Patches

What is a patch?

A patch is a saved snapshot of which clips are active across all your layers. Triggering a patch launches multiple clips at once, instantly switching the entire visual state.

Think of patches as scenes in a lighting console. Each one stores a complete look that you can recall with a single press.

Launching a patch

Press a patch cell in the patch grid to launch it. All clips stored in that patch activate simultaneously. Layers not included in the patch are deactivated automatically.

Saving a patch

To save the current state as a patch:

  1. Activate the clips you want across your layers
  2. Long-press (or right-click) an empty patch cell
  3. The current clip state is saved to that cell

The patch stores which clip is active on each layer. It does not store parameter values. Those come from the clip’s variant.

Naming and coloring

Each patch can have a custom name and color. Right-click a saved patch to edit its name or pick a color. Colors help you organize patches visually during a performance.

Eject all

The eject button deactivates all clips across all layers, returning to a blank state. Use it to clear the stage between sections of a performance, or before building a new look from scratch.

How many patches?

A composition can hold up to 16 patches. They are saved as part of the composition file.
